BALANCE: To render equal in proportion.
Is Your Life in Balance? . . . or do you tend to do things to the extreme, excessively? Is it all or nothing?
Often times its the perfectionists who have the most difficulty accomplishing a task -- it seems that just the opposite would be true-- however, what happens is that they say "I don't have time" but what they really mean is: "If I can't do it perfectly, I can't do it at all."
When it comes to cleaning your home, understand that "housework done incorrectly still blesses you and your family". -Fly Lady
In her book, Finding More Time in Your Life, Dru Scott Decker says "If you have ever spent an extended period of time in rushing, disorganization, or chaos, you know the comfort of having a practical, powerful, enjoyable, ongoing program to find more time."
Stay with us - while you're in the process of getting your life de-cluttered and organized - keep things in balance.

No matter which area of your home, paperwork, filing, etc., you have a backlog of organizing needs - START WHERE YOU ARE. Begin today deciding on a work-able system and continue with it daily as you work it into becoming a habit. Then work on your backlog - 15 minutes a day.
If you haven't yet made the decision to be a Christ Follower - START WHERE YOU ARE - Instead of thinking you have to clean yourself up first before you can follow Jesus -- Come to Him as you are and let him do the cleaning up-- START WHERE YOU ARE.

Do you like to re-cycle plastic containers to keep left overs in or to send food home with someone? Maybe your "collection" is getting larger than you have room for but you can't decide which ones to keep. Ever wonder which of those containers are actually safe to use? Look on the bottom of the container and you'll find a triangle with a number in it. According to the National Geographics' Green Guide, the safest plastic products to re-use are the ones with these numbers: #2, #4 and #5. Water bottles & Soda bottles have a #1 - and should be used one-time only. Styrofoam is a #6 and take-out food in these containers should be removed ASAP when you get home.
Are you making space for God? "The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous run to it, and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 NIV

Mindful adj. Attentive, heedful.
Okay, so you've done the de-clutter thing and you pretty much have a place for everything, but . . . somehow things still get out of order in your home. I think often times this can occur when we are not mindful of what we're doing with the things in our hands. Maybe you've had a few extra activities that took up more of your time than usual - you come home tired and with an arm load of things. The natural instinct is to say "I'll put them here just for now". Or maybe you're busy multi-tasking and gather things up and place them in another area without even realizing you're doing it, then have difficulty finding the items later.
Instead of multi-tasking, begin being mindful of the one thing you're doing at the moment and keep your focus on that. When you agree to take on extra activities, be mindful of the fact that this may also include bringing more "stuff" into your home and plan ahead for a place it can be stored. This helps you practice the habit of handling things once which is a great time-management tool.
As you make space for God, be mindful of Him.
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee. KJV
